About Us
Our Trainer: Paulina Liszka
Over the last 15 years she has worked at local Austin area barns learning from local trainers and acquiring years of experience training horses, teaching students of all levels, and caring for many, many horses.
Her passion lies in instilling and reigniting a love of horses in riders of all ages. Producing riders with strong stable bodies as well as capable minds which can problem solve without the hand holding of a trainer. Her riders become well rounded horsemen and women who understand many aspects of the horse world, feel confident and safe around horses, and have very strong and ingrained riding basics and knowledge.
She graduated in 2007 from Colorado State University with a Bachelors in Equine Science. During school she participated in the CSU International Horse Show Team, the Legends of Ranching Horse Sale, National Western Stock Show Internship, Riding Instructor Training, Colt Training, and was vice president and historian of the CSU Collegiate Horsemens Association. Having the chance to train with many world renowned trainers such as Greg Best, Chris & Jane Bartle, Beverley Manroe, and Christian Eagles. She also had the opportunity to compete in the Royal Dick Invitational Horse Show.
Her training experience includes training Hunters, Jumpers, Eventers, Pleasure horses, Endurance mounts, and tons of best friends! Using natural horsemanship techniquies and the skills she have picked up over the years she produces horses who are confident and comfortable with anything they are faced with as well as safe for their people. In 2013 she finished 3rd in the Professional Division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. Her training focuses to form a solid base for horses of all discplines, with wonderful ground manners and responsiveness to the aids.
Us & Our Story
Years ago our trainer Paulina met a wonderful person who is now the owner of Scissortail Hill, Ann. In 2014 we found a wonderful property in South Austin to move our group of devoted equine enthusiasts to and we named it Scissortail Hill for its flycatcher birds and rolling terrain. We are a family oriented facility who enjoyed learning, working hard, and having fun! We are known for the fun and friendly atmosphere at our shows due to these wonderful people! We work daily to improve this once unloved property and transform it into it's highest potential as Austin's number one cross country destination.
